Accounting Manager
Birmingham, AL (on-site) · $55-65/h
Vaco is assisting a manufacturing client in its search for an Interim Accounting Manager. This person will play an integral role in ensuring accurate accounting and reporting in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Financial Reporting, as well as providing financial decision‑making support. Must enjoy and thrive in a fast‑moving, high‑energy, constantly evolving environment.
Responsibilities- Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets to provide insights into the company's financial health. - Financial Management:
Manage the company's financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial planning. Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables Duties - Compliance:
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial laws, and oversee internal and external audits. - Budget Management:
Develop and manage the company's budget, tracking expenses and revenue, and providing financial guidance. - Cash Flow Management:
Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure financial stability and support daily operations. - Team Management:
Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. - Process Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements in financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. - Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis, including cost analysis, forecasting, and trend analysis, to support decision‑making.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree and/or CPA preferred).
- 8 plus years' experience in accounting
- Proven experience in accounting and financial management, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
- Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools.
- Experience with consolidation across multiple legal entities.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing industry and cost accounting is a plus.
