Overview
Community Bank Loan Assistants have direct interface with current and potential bank customers and work closely with loan officers and other bank employees. They provide services including completion of loan request data sheets, closing loans with customers and disbursing funds, explaining bank products and services, solving customer problems, and answering other customer requests. The Loan Assistant must possess a thorough knowledge of all bank products and services, fully understand and adhere to all federal and state laws and the policies of the Bank, and be able to communicate effectively with customers, including in difficult situations.
A pleasant customer service attitude and willingness to be a team player are essential. Loan Assistants report to the designated Branch Officer.
- Interface with current and potential bank customers and work closely with loan officers and other bank employees.
- Complete loan request data sheets, close loans with customers, and disburse funds.
- Explain bank products and services, solve customer problems, and answer customer requests.
- Possess thorough knowledge of all bank products and services; fully understand and adhere to federal and state laws and bank policies.
- Communicate effectively with customers, including in difficult situations.
- Maintain a pleasant customer service attitude and be a dependable team player.
- Report to the designated Branch Officer.
Education
Graduation from high school or equivalent GED required; some college or post-graduate technical training preferred.
Experience
A minimum of two years of work experience in an area requiring customer service skills, or a minimum of one year of work experience in the banking industry is preferred. Education may be substituted for experience.
