Senior Financial Analyst

Financial Analyst (Full-Time, On-Site)

Location: Birmingham, AL

Our client is seeking a Financial Analyst to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for a complex organization with multiple departments and projects. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys working with real data, understanding cost drivers, and clearly explaining financial results to non-finance leaders.

• Support annual budget development and ongoing forecasting for departments and projects

• Prepare monthly budget vs. actual variance analyses and identify key drivers

• Analyze cost projections and financial trends to support planning and decision‑making

• Consolidate financial information for management reporting

• Partner with managers to answer questions, explain results, and provide financial guidance

• Ensure financial activity aligns with internal controls and accounting policies

• Participate in special projects requiring data gathering, analysis, and clear communication

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• 1‑4 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or budgeting roles

• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets

• Ability to explain financial results in plain language

• Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities

• Comfortable asking questions, digging into variances, and following items through to completion

This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys:

• Hands‑on analysis rather than purely theoretical work

• Owning recurring reporting and improving it over time

• Working closely with managers outside of finance

This role may not be a fit for someone seeking a purely academic, research‑only, or highly automated reporting position.

Salary range:
Determined based on factors such as skill set, experience, location, and business needs. Individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
