Clinical Financial Officer I – Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine
Location: Jefferson Towers
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift

Responsibilities- Provide fiscal and budgetary services to an assigned unit.
- Manage departmental accounts and provide ongoing financial analysis of accounting functions.
- Ensure proper accounting for state, grant, contract, and other revenue accounts.
- Analyze gross expenditures and recommend actions to maintain fiscal stability.
- Assist in developing and administering budgets.
- Maintain financial management databases and systems conforming to standard accounting practices.
- Monitor adherence to financial policy and procedure.
- Develop and provide financial statements and reports to upper management on a regular or requested basis.
- Supervise departmental accounting operations, including disbursement and internal requisition processing.
- Interact with vendors and comply with UAB bid policy and procedures.
- Make decisions regarding the use of financial resources and provide guidance to assigned staff and University personnel.
- Coordinate integration with University accounting system.
- Prepare and/or supervise processing of departmental personnel action forms and some payroll duties.
- Act as liaison with appropriate University financial staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or a related field and two (2) years of related experience (work experience may substitute for education).
- No required license, certification, or registration.
