Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our team in early 2026. This role is ideal for a technically inclined professional with hands-on trade experience who is eager to expand their knowledge into the biomedical equipment field and enjoys traveling. Professionals with plumbing, HVAC, heavy equipment repair, commercial electric, or direct biomedical experience have been very successful in these roles.
You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of biomedical equipment and related systems in healthcare environments.
- Travel safely to various worksites primarily within northern Alabama, northern Mississippi, and western Tennessee; and occasionally throughout the country. To start, this role will be approximately 40% travel.
- Install, maintain, clean, troubleshoot, and repair biomedical equipment, including but not limited to surgical lights, surgical tables, booms, sterilizers, washers, and other healthcare-related equipment.
- Work with electro-hydraulic systems, low-voltage lighting systems, and other specialized hospital equipment.
- Collaborate with sales, service, and project management teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Provide technical support and training to healthcare facility staff as needed.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Adhere to all safety, regulatory, and infection control protocols when working in healthcare environments.
- Work as a high-integrity, professional teammate.
- Proven experience in a skilled trade (mechanical, electrical, or similar technical field).
- Enthusiasm and aptitude for learning new technical skills and systems.
- Experience with electro-hydraulic systems, low-voltage lighting systems, and/or medical equipment (preferred).
- Previous work experience in healthcare environments, especially hospitals (preferred).
- Experience with Skytron products (a plus, but not required).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical/electrical aptitude.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Attention to detail and ability to work carefully and meticulously.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites throughout territory (avg. weekly travel between 2-10 hours)
