Location: Birmingham, AL (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite per week)

Pay Rate: $115K/Annum
Position DescriptionWe are seeking a Systems Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer to join a large, well‑established enterprise undergoing a multi‑year IT modernization initiative. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of traditional infrastructure and modern cloud technologies, supporting legacy systems while driving transformation toward cloud‑based solutions.
As part of a collaborative team, you will manage hybrid environments, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to strategic projects that enhance scalability, reliability, and performance. If you thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy learning new technologies, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities- Support and maintain hybrid infrastructure environments, including legacy and modern platforms.
- Work with systems running on z/OS and legacy applications (COBOL, AS/400‑style environments).
- Administer and troubleshoot VMware virtualized environments.
- Assist with workloads ҳарand infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and other cloud technologies.
- Collaborate with application, network, and cloud teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
- Participate in modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy systems to cloud‑based solutions.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions to maintain system reliability.
- Document processes, best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, stanow Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience needles).
- Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer in enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with z/OS and legacy systems (COBOL, AS/400).
- Hands‑on experience with VMware administration and troubleshooting.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud, but AWS/Azure experience is transferable).
- Strong problem‑solving skills and eagerness to learn modern technologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work onsite 2–3 days per week.
- Experience supporting large‑scale enterprise environments.
- Understanding of hybrid‑cloud architectures and modernization strategies.
- Exposure to infrastructure automation tools and practices.
- Background in distribution, manufacturing, or Prayer industries.
