Responsibilities

Serve as Engineer of Record for design‑build projects and perform or lead all structural engineering efforts required to move projects from first client contact through construction completion.

  • Coordinate structural design with architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and other design disciplines and internal operations, scheduling, and procurement teams.
  • Prepare Structural Narratives, Schematic Designs, and Construction Documents.
  • Develop 2D and 3D structural analysis models and detailed drawings using Revit.
  • Perform construction administration duties, including design review, shop drawing review, RFI review and response, and site visits.
  • Evaluate and remediate existing structure deficiencies such as foundation and column issues, cracked concrete, and misalignments.
  • Perform design assist and value engineering reviews of structural systems, including foundations and framing systems.
  • Assess existing and proposed permanent structures for temporary loads and conditions (e.g., pump trucks, cranes, lifts).
  • Prepare and seal appropriate analysis, calculations, details, plans, drawings, quantities, specifications, and reports.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of plans, calculations, and documentation prepared by other engineers.
  • Develop staff work plans and provide daily supervision of staff.
  • Mentor and train staff.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.

  • 12+ years of engineering and design experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Professional Engineering Licensure within 6 months of hire.
  • Expertise designing to requirements of IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and similar specifications.
  • Experience with multi‑story reinforced concrete and/or structural steel frames; knowledge of post‑tensioned concrete, HSS, cold‑formed steel, timber, masonry, and foundation analysis and design.
  • Experience designing multifamily and similar structures, including commercial, federal, healthcare, life science, industrial, mission‑critical, parking, and other structures.
  • Solid engineering judgment and reasoning.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborative work style with internal and external project teams.
  • Innovative, entrepreneurial, strategic, and service‑oriented attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
