Electrical Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Birmingham, AL
Shift: Mon – Fri 1st Shift
Employment: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experience
We are seeking a results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to support and continuously improve manufacturing operations with a strong focus on efficiency, quality, and safety. This role partners closely with cross‑functional manufacturing teams to develop, analyze, and optimize production processes while ensuring compliance with quality management systems and industry standards. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on engineer who thrives in a shop‑floor environment, enjoys solving complex technical problems, and communicates effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

- Develop, document, and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify process improvements, cost reductions, and quality enhancements
- Troubleshoot manufacturing, equipment, and process‑related issues and implement corrective actions
- Support and maintain quality management systems, including document control, audits, and compliance activities
- Lead or support internal and external quality audits
- Train manufacturing teams on quality tools, performance systems, and process improvements
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, and production teams to resolve quality and performance issues
- Support Manufacturing Execution System (MES) initiatives, including development, implementation, and maintenance
- Maintain accurate records, technical documentation, and reports
- Provide technical support during off‑hours as needed and travel moderately to address customer or production issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET EAC‑accredited four‑year college or university (proof required)
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Working knowledge of manufacturing machinery, electrical systems, and shop equipment operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and database tools; experience with CAD software preferred
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams
- Willingness and ability to work in manufacturing environments, including climbing and working at heights
- Hands‑on, shop‑oriented engineering mindset
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel moderately with minimal notice
- Graduate‑level education or professional certifications
- Several years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and continuous improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of robotic integration, automation, PLCs, and advanced control systems
- Experience with root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), risk assessment, audits, and management of change
- Familiarity with MES systems and digital manufacturing tools
- Prior experience in electrical engineering, machine shop operations, tooling design, metal forming, or maintenance
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification.
