Job Summary:

We are seeking a versatile and technically skilled Field Technicianto provide day-to-day support to our team of Drafters, Designers, and Engineers. The successful candidate will primarily support Autodesk software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, etc.), resolve desktop issues, and ensure the smooth operation of AV equipment in conference rooms. This position plays a critical role in helping our Transmission Design teams meet project deadlines by resolving application and hardware issues efficiently.

Key

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support for design software, primarily Autodesk tools (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Raster Design, Inventor, Civil 3D, Plant 3D).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, workstations, printers, plotters, and mobile devices.

  • Maintain and support AV systems in conference rooms (projectors, displays, sound systems).

  • Assist users with application setup, configurations, and best practices for Transmission-specific projects.

  • Support internal business processes related to the design workflow and document management tools.

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including engineers, designers, drafters, and IT analysts, to resolve time-sensitive technical issues.

  • Prioritize and manage multiple support tickets and user requests concurrently.

Qualifications:Education:
  • High school diploma required.

  • Progress toward or completion of a 2-year or 4-year degree in Engineering, Drafting, Design, or a related technical field strongly preferred.

  • Computer science training is a plus.

Experience:
  • 1+ years of experience supporting Autodesk applications and design tools.

  • Experience troubleshooting Windows-based hardware and software issues.

  • Familiarity with plotter/printer maintenance and workstation setup.

  • Experience providing end-user support in a technical environment preferred.

  • Knowledge of software configuration and installations is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Proficiency in Autodesk tools, including AutoCAD and Inventor.

  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking capabilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage shifting support requests.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
