$60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year (based on experience).
Job OverviewDesigned to support diverse civil and geotechnical projects including government buildings, roadways, parking lots, laboratory facilities, and more. Works under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member and must be comfortable working on the construction site with tools such as AutoCAD and slope stability analysis.
Duties / Responsibilities- Civil/site engineering and design for government buildings, test stands, recreational facilities, roadways, parking lots, laboratory facilities, etc.
- Perform boring layout for utility clearance, supervise drill rigs, classify soils, and log borings.
- Perform and supervise field exploration, including SPT sampling, rock coring, and pile testing.
- Assist in developing a variety of layouts, drawings, and designs.
- Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
- Maintain working knowledge of AutoCAD and slope stability analysis.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
- 1‑3 years of experience with geotechnical engineering knowledge.
- 1‑3 years of experience preparing geotechnical engineering reports, including site investigations, soil analysis, and foundation recommendations.
- Experience and skill in application of CAD software, specifically Civil 3D and associated civil software packages, is highly desirable.
- At least 1 year of experience working on GDOT projects is preferred.
- Ability and willingness to assist designers, drafters, and other staff members where needed.
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners, including clients, subcontractors, and utility companies.
- Valid driver’s license; must be insurable.
- Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments.
- Ability to carry required instruments and equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including extreme cold and heat.
