Electrical Engineer

Talon Hiring Solutions has a client seeking an Electrical Engineer in Birmingham, AL to lead the electrical and mechanical design team in developing hardened precast concrete structures that comply with state, local, and IBC codes. This role requires balancing technical expertise, regulatory compliance, and customer collaboration to ensure efficient, high-quality design.

• Manage electrical and mechanical designers, oversee workload, and ensure compliance with building codes
• Design & Compliance – Direct the creation of electrical and mechanical systems for concrete structures, including major equipment like generators and backup power systems
• Work with sales, production, purchasing, and quality assurance teams to enhance cost efficiency and on-time delivery
• Regulatory & Inspection Coordination – Ensure state approvals, manage third-party inspections, and maintain compliance with codes
• Establish training programs, conduct performance evaluations, and drive continuous improvement

• BS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience (precast concrete experience a plus)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, and engineering software
• Strong knowledge of state, local, and IBC codes for concrete structures
• Experience in customer collaboration, regulatory approvals, and third-party engineering coordination
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
