Job Title:
Content Developer Training Support Services Work Location & Schedule
- This position will fill multiple openings in the Birmingham, AL area.
- Hybrid schedule:
Required to work in-office four days per week
. - Occasional adjustments may require additional in-office time based on business needs.
- Travel requirement:
Less than 25%. - No relocation assistance will be provided.
- The Content Developer will apply instructional design principles, adult learning methodologies, and multimedia expertise to analyze learning needs and design, develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain high-quality learning solutions that support organizational performance and business outcomes.
- This role partners closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and instructors to translate learning and performance objectives into effective instructor-led, virtual, blended, and digital learning experiences.
Deliverables may include:
- eLearning modules
- Facilitator and participant guides
- Job aids and performance support tools
- Digital learning assets
All learning solutions must be engaging, accessible, instructionally sound, and aligned with established standards, templates, and branding guidelines.
Position Qualifications Education- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, or related field OR equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360), animation software, and similar development tools (required).
- Experience designing training for technical and non-technical disciplines such as power generation, power delivery, construction, compliance, safety, or business functions (preferred).
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, narration software, and AI tools in instructional design environments (highly desired).
- Experience managing instructional design projects (required).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (required).
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) strongly preferred.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in collaborative team environments.
- Engage in curriculum planning, instructional design, and training development.
- Define learning objectives and outcomes aligned with business goals.
- Select appropriate instructional delivery formats, strategies, and media.
- Execute project plans and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Apply instructional design theories and best practices to create ILT, VILT, eLearning, and performance support tools.
- Ensure learning materials meet system and accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, SMEs, and business leaders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Upload and maintain course content within SharePoint and LMS platforms.
- Maintain and update existing courses as needed.
- Manage multiple projects and meet timelines with minimal supervision.
- Research and advocate for innovation in learning design and education technologies.
- Lead or contribute to project teams when appropriate.
- Demonstrates commitment to safety, inclusion, integrity, and high performance.

- Strong attention to detail and quality.
