DescriptionOn-site in Birmingham, AL
Role:
To learn the overall strategy of the department while assisting with the day-to-day functions and special projects.
- Assist with training logistics by scheduling training sessions, preparing materials and resources, and sending invitations.
- Coordinate with trainers, speakers, and attendees.
- Help design training content, research new training topics and tools, and review and update existing training resources.
- Track attendance and participation to help analyze training effectiveness through surveys or data collection.
- Set up online training or webinars using the company’s learning management system and troubleshoot basic technical issues for virtual sessions.
- Send reminders and follow-ups relating to training opportunities.
- Assist in promoting training programs internally.
- Organize files, update databases, keep documentation up to date, and support other HR and L&D projects as needed.
- Provide friendly, professional and accurate service and support to all members and staff.
- Complete all tasks and assignments in a timely manner.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism and effective communication.
Experience - The role can be learned in hours, days, or weeks.
Education - A high school education or GED. Must be currently attending an accredited college or university working towards a bachelor's degree in a business or a related field.
Interpersonal Skills - Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Other Skills - Must be professional, courteous and friendly, with the ability to communicate in an enthusiastic and effective manner. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer and telephone skills are required. Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Physical RequirementsLight lifting required
Working EnvironmentMust be able to work 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday from mid‑May to the beginning of August.
