Job Description:
The Instructional Content Designer contributes to the creation and maintenance of training materials for both instructor‑led and eLearning environments. This role supports content updates, storyboard drafting, narration preparation, multimedia production, course testing, and documentation management. You’ll work closely with senior instructional designers to ensure all learning materials are accurate, consistent, and aligned with established standards.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Communications, or related field preferred
- OR equivalent academic, internship, or practicum experience
- Understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning concepts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with:
- Narration/voiceover tools
- Articulate 360 or similar authoring tools
- Adobe Creative Cloud or comparable multimedia software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (preferred)
- Eagerness to learn new tools, methods, and processes
- Organization & Time Management:
Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines - Collaboration & Communication:
Works well with team members and incorporates feedback - Initiative & Follow‑Through:
Takes ownership and completes tasks reliably - Adaptability:
Comfortable learning new tools and adjusting to project needs - Attention to Detail:
Ensures accuracy, consistency, and quality in all deliverables
- Update and refine PowerPoint decks for ILT and virtual training
- Assist with recording and editing narration for eLearning content
- Support creation of facilitator guides, job aids, storyboards, and basic eLearning components
- Ensure materials follow branding, templates, formatting, and accessibility standards
- Apply foundational instructional design models under guidance from senior designers
- Align content with learning objectives and course outcomes
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from designers, instructors, and subject matter resources
- Test eLearning courses in staging and production environments
- Maintain course files and documentation in Share Point
- Support version control, content updates, and publishing workflows
- Track project timelines and updates using tools such as
- Assist with project coordination tasks (e.g., note‑taking, feedback documentation, scheduling reviews)
- Communicate effectively with team members, instructors, and subject matter resources
- Conduct research to support learning technology and multimedia development
