Instructional Designer – Job Description
Position Summary The Instructional Designer will leverage strong instructional design and multimedia development skills to analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain training curriculum and content. This includes creating interactive eLearning modules, facilitator guides, job aids, and other learning resources that enhance organizational performance. The ideal candidate will apply instructional design theories and adult learning principles to create effective learning experiences while collaborating closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) and business stakeholders.

- Project Management – 3‑5 years required; must manage timelines, budgets, and multiple concurrent projects independently.
- Learning Management Systems (LMS) – 2‑3 years strongly preferred; needed for uploading, maintaining, and tracking learning content.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- 3‑5 years of experience using eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360; animation or multimedia development tools required.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, audio/narration tools, and/or AI‑driven instructional design tools preferred.
- Training or industry experience in power generation, power delivery, transmission, construction, or related technical fields preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Experience managing projects and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision required.
- Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, and relationship management skills required.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment and produce results independently.
- Participate in curriculum planning, course design, and training development, including defining learning outcomes, selecting delivery methods, and ensuring content consistency across programs.
- Develop high‑quality instructional materials such as online modules, instructor‑led training materials, web‑based learning aids, assessments, and job aids.
- Apply instructional design best practices, adult learning theories, and accessibility standards to all training deliverables.
- Execute project plans, manage timelines, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with SMEs, instructors, customers, and business leaders to gather requirements and translate technical content into engaging learning experiences.
- Upload, maintain, and track course content within systems including SharePoint and the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Maintain and update learning content as required by customer needs or governance processes.
- Lead or contribute to project teams, providing planning, organization, and reporting on work progress.
- Research and recommend innovative learning technologies, tools, and methodologies to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure all online training materials are technically compatible with organizational learning platforms.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 – $32.00/hr.
