Design Project Manager

Overview

The Design Project Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all front end and ongoing design efforts for veterinary facility projects across the portfolio. This role works cross-functionally with hospital leadership, architects, contractors, and internal construction partners to ensure design deliverables align with company standards, operational needs, schedules, and budgets. The Design Project Manager plays a critical role in translating programmatic requirements into efficient, scalable, and high-quality design solutions that support on time and on budget project delivery.

• Manage and facilitate all aspects of preliminary and ongoing design for multiple projects
• Develop and coordinate schematic floor plans, exterior concepts, and design standards
• Maintain and evolve standard materials, finishes, equipment, and specifications
• Coordinate architectural production teams and review drawings, specifications, and deliverables
• Partner closely with Construction Project Managers to align design with budget and schedule
• Assist with review of RFIs, submittals, and design clarifications during construction
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously from site survey through permitting
• Coordinate site surveys, schematic design, design development, and construction documents
• Collaborate with Real Estate Development to resolve design, engineering, and constructability issues
• Develop and manage conceptual designs, renderings, and graphic materials
• Negotiate with vendors and consultants and hold them accountable to scope, schedule, and quality
• Attend regular meetings with architects and contractors to review project status
• Maintain strong relationships with hospital leadership and front line teams
• Travel periodically to support projects as needed

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture preferred
• Minimum five years of experience in architectural or design project management
• Strong front end design experience with an emphasis on schematic and conceptual design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to communicate design ideas quickly and clearly through graphics and drawings
• Experience producing, reviewing, and marking up construction documents
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and delegation skills
• Excellent graphic, verbal, and written communication skills
• High level of attention to detail and quality
