Transmission Analyst I

Industry: Electric Utility / Transmission Operations
Experience Level: Entry to Mid-Level
Function: Project Support / Transmission Operations / Survey & Mapping

Position Summary

The Transmission Analyst I provides analytical and administrative support to the Transmission Survey and Mapping workgroup. This role supports capital and O&M (Operations & Maintenance) projects by assisting with cost estimates, schedule tracking, project reporting, and administrative coordination.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced utility environment.

Key Responsibilities Project Management Support
  • Provide project management support for transmission-related capital and O&M projects
  • Assist in maintaining project timelines, objectives, and stakeholder communications
  • Track project progress and support documentation efforts
Cost Estimating & Financial Support
  • Prepare and support development of survey department cost estimates
  • Assist with budget tracking for capital and O&M work
  • Analyze cost variances and schedule exceptions
Schedule & Performance Analysis
  • Monitor project schedules and identify deviations
  • Analyze schedule exceptions and recommend corrective actions
  • Support reporting of project performance metrics
Administrative Support
  • Provide administrative support for Transmission Survey/Mapping workgroup, including:
    • Timesheet processing
    • Expense processing
    • Record management
  • Maintain organized project documentation and reporting files
Required Qualifications
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including:
    • Word
    • Excel
    • Access
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting project management in a utility or infrastructure environment
  • Familiarity with capital project processes
  • Experience with cost tracking and schedule analysis
