What You’ll Do:

Evaluate Claims Exposure: Work with third-party administrators to investigate and evaluate all available facts to determine the company’s workers’ compensation claims exposure under applicable laws, set proper reserves, and propose actions. Conduct quarterly claims reviews for assigned divisions.

Develop Litigation Strategies: Develop case-specific and overall strategies to minimize claims exposure. Coordinate with outside counsel in handling workers’ compensation litigation through active participation and communication.

Ensure Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with Federal MMSEA (Medicare) regulations related to workers’ compensation.

Negotiate Claims: Negotiate to conclude workers’ compensation claims, controlling costs through direct communication with injured employees and their attorneys.

Champion Continuous Improvement: Evaluate innovative claims handling approaches and recommend strategies to reduce overall claims costs.

Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills You’ll Need:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years managing workers’ compensation lost time and permanent disability claims.

Interpersonal

Skills:

Excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to coordinate consensus at various organizational levels.
