The Specialist maintains the operational readiness of the automotive fleet, inspects, tests, and performs corrective actions, and prepares new vehicles for assimilation into the fleet. The position requires automotive repair/maintenance experience or national certification in diagnostic scan tool familiarization.
Key Requirements- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license
- Some travel may be required
- Exposed to cuts, bruises, burns, and stains
- Assist in repairs while vehicles are overhead and parts may be in hard‑to‑reach places
- Stand, stoop, bend, stretch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions for extended periods
- Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 lbs and occasionally lift and carry items that weigh 50 lbs or more
- Exposure to vehicle fluids such as battery acid and hydraulic fluids that may cause burns or irritate the skin
- Maintain operational readiness of the automotive fleet and related equipment
- Inspect, test, correct, and prepare new vehicles for fleet assimilation
- Conduct technical research, gather facts, determine past performance, and evaluate cost‑effectiveness and technical efficiency of corrective actions
- Ensure vehicles are operational per manufacturer specifications
- Ensure proper registration, tags, titles, and state inspections

- Experience in automotive repair/maintenance with formal education or national certification in diagnostic scan tool familiarization (GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Snap‑On, ASE, Military, etc.)
- EPA recognized refrigerant handling certification
- State emissions or state level safety inspection license
- Inspection and maintenance with emergency lighting systems
- All degrees must be from an accredited college or university
- Specialized experience can be used in lieu of a degree for this position
