Administrative Associate – Neurosurgery Administration

UAB Medicine is seeking an Administrative Associate who will provide essential administrative and business support services within Neurosurgery Administration.

Position Description

Schedule:

Monday‑Friday, 8 AM‑5 PM

Location:

Faculty Office Tower, Birmingham, AL

The role will include:

  • Budget maintenance and financial reporting
  • Personnel processing and human‑resources coordination
  • Policy communication and procedural updates
  • Facilities and space management
  • Database/files management and office/clinic oversight
  • Patient flow management and coordination of clinic functions
  • Maintenance of vendor relationships
  • Preparation and submission of grants and contracts administration
  • Special projects relating to administrative operations at the direction of superior
  • Support of department chairs, division directors, deans or other executives, including confidential secretarial duties
  • Brief supervision of clerical/secretarial support staff
Position Requirements
  • Provides administrative and business support services for a department or clinic
  • Coordinates programmatic functions and special assignments
  • Interfaces with internal and external constituencies and vendors
  • Provides oversight of clerical staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
