Experienced Staff Accountant – CPA | Birmingham Construction

Due to continued growth, they are adding an accountant to their team.

This is an excellent role for a CPA early in their career who wants hands-on exposure to project accounting within a respected construction organization. You’ll work closely with experienced accounting and finance leaders and gain visibility into complex, high-profile projects across the country.

• Support accounting for active construction projects, including job cost tracking and analysis
• Assist with monthly close processes related to project accounting
• Review and reconcile project costs, billings, and budgets
• Partner with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Assist with WIP reporting and revenue recognition
• Support audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Contribute to process improvements and special projects as the company continues to grow

• CPA required
• 1–2 years of accounting experience ideal
• Background in construction, engineering, or architecture accounting strongly preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and finance leadership
• Motivated, team-oriented mindset with a desire to grow within the organization
