$90,000-$110,000 annually (commensurate with experience and CPA status)

Vaco is partnering with a client in Birmingham to identify a Senior Accountant to provide hands‑on support to the Accounting and Finance team during a key period. In this interim capacity, the Senior Accountant will support core accounting operations, including month‑end close, multi‑entity consolidations, and financial analysis. The role requires a strong command of U.S. GAAP, comfort working across multiple entities, and the ability to step in quickly and deliver accurate results in a deadline‑driven environment.

• Execute monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and review of financial results
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and related supporting schedules

• Perform multi‑entity consolidations, inter‑company reconciliations, and eliminations
• Support budgeting and forecasting efforts as needed

• Review subsidiary financial data to identify trends, variances, or inconsistencies
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reporting accuracy

• Assist with technical accounting research and application of U.S. GAAP
• Provide schedules and documentation to support audit and compliance activities

• Partner with accounting, finance, and operational teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment across processes

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required
• CPA or CPA‑eligible strongly preferred and may impact compensation
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a corporate or multi‑entity environment
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and consolidation principles
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast‑paced, interim setting
