Accounting Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client's team in Birmingham, Alabama. This contract position with the potential for permanent employment offers an excellent opportunity to oversee financial operations in a dynamic construction environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fixed asset accounting, general ledger management, and team leadership.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure compliance with accounting standards.

- Lead the preparation and review of journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.

- Conduct financial statement audits, providing necessary data and resolving discrepancies.

- Supervise account reconciliation processes to maintain accurate financial records.

- Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking and reporting asset activities.

- Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, fostering collaboration and efficiency.

- Develop and implement accounting procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.

- Monitor financial performance and provide insights to support business decisions.

Requirements - Proven experience in fixed asset accounting and general ledger management.

- Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and financial statement audits.

- Ability to prepare and review journal entries with a high level of accuracy.

- Proficiency in account reconciliation and maintaining financial records.

- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and mentoring accounting teams.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Familiarity with accounting software and systems.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
