Title: Bookkeeper - Quick Books (In-office)

Location: Birmingham, AL

Salary: $55,000-$65,000

Vaco has been engaged to identify a Bookkeeper for a mid‑sized company, headquartered in Birmingham. The Bookkeeper will report to the President and perform general accounting and record‑keeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly closing and prepare various reports. This company has very low turnover and prides itself on being a mid‑sized company with a small‑company, family‑oriented mindset. Positions at this company are highly coveted and do not come open often.

• Balance sheet reconciliations and posting to general ledger within Quick Books
• Preparing and entering journal entries
• Generating financial packets and updating budgets
• Communicating with owners and executive management about financial results

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a progressive accounting/bookkeeping role
• Proficiency in Quick Books Online/Desktop
• Extensive Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable knowledge
• Knowledge of financial statement preparation
• Ability to work with a wide variety of personalities and the ability to shift gears with ease
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
