Staff Accountant at Landing

As a Staff Accountant at Landing, you’ll play an active role in shaping the financial foundation of a fast‑growing startup. You’ll collaborate closely with our Operations, Finance, and Accounting teams to own key responsibilities like balance sheet and P&L reviews. More than just day‑to‑day accounting, this role puts you at the center of building and evolving new processes that scale with the business.

• Drive the timely and accurate completion of month‑end close activities, supporting key business decisions with up‑to‑date financials
• Analyze monthly P&L data to verify correct accounting treatment, providing clear variance explanations to department leadership
• Manage partner payouts with precision, ensuring accurate and timely disbursements in line with revenue share agreements
• Lead the development and enhancement of partner reporting processes, supporting automation efforts to improve scalability and efficiency
• Conduct internal audits and validation checks to ensure the accuracy of monthly revenue share calculations and maintain system integrity
• Prepare and post journal entries and manage monthly accruals, playing an essential role in the month‑end close process
• Own bank account and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience (project accounting a plus)
• B.S. or B.A. degree in accounting or business‑related degree or equivalent work experience
• Must be able to thrive in a fast‑paced setting
• Ability to think outside the box and challenge the status quo
• Attention to detail, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills are essential
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
• Must thrive in a teamwork setting and have excellent organizational skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• CPA is a plus but not required
