Heavy Duty Fitter – Wash Plant

Pay: £20.00 – £25.00 per hour

Career Makers Recruitment are currently recruiting for a skilled and reliable Heavy Duty Fitter on behalf of our client based in Kirkby.

This is a hands-on role supporting site operations and maintaining heavy plant machinery and aggregate wash plant systems. It is ideal for someone with strong mechanical knowledge and a proactive approach to maintenance and uptime.

Working Hours

* Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm

* Saturday: 7:00am – 1:00pm (when required)

* Additional overtime available when necessary

* Expected hours: 47.5 – 60 per week

Key

Duties & Responsibilities

* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on heavy plant machinery including excavators, loading shovels, screeners and crushers

* Service and maintain aggregate wash plant systems

* Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults

* Complete routine servicing and preventative maintenance to maximise uptime

* Monitor plant performance and ensure operational efficiency

* Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports and maintenance logs

* Work collaboratively with plant operators, fitters and management

* Ensure all tasks are carried out in line with health and safety regulations

Requirements

* Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

* Previous experience maintaining heavy plant machinery

* Experience with aggregate wash plant maintenance highly desirable

* Good understanding of health & safety within an industrial environment

* Basic computer literacy for reporting and record keeping

* Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently or within a team

* Must be able to commute to the Kirkby site (L33 area)

* Flexible to work overtime and weekends when required
