CYP ARRS - Primary Care Network Lead CYP MH Practitioner

Healthier South Wirral Primary Care Network (PCN) and CWP’s Children Young People and Families mental health services (CYPMHS) have worked together to enhance access to mental health support. We aim to deliver an integrated community-based model of mental health care supporting both primary and secondary care services.
We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to work as part of the GP Multidisciplinary Team on a part‑time basis (22.5 hours).
Key Responsibilities- Complete assessments and deliver brief interventions for GP patients with mental health needs.
- Signpost patients to school, community or other services and support access to the graduated approach for potential neurodevelopmental needs.
- Support signposting following assessment by secondary CYP Mental Health Services (CYPMHS) and facilitate transitions out of CYPMHS.
- Build community networks and offer training/upskilling for staff.
- Provide expert advice and support to enable the GP MDT to deliver effective services for children and young people.
- Line‑manage and professionally supervise under the CWP Band 7 Access Team Manager.

- Registered Mental Health Professional (e.g. RMN, Occupational Therapist)
- Degree level education relevant to the field or equivalent experience
- Master’s level qualification or equivalent post‑qualifying courses
- Recent evidence of post‑qualifying continuing professional development
- Teaching qualification or significant teaching experience
- Post‑graduate psychological therapy qualification or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills with staff, patients, carers, general practice and in written reports
- Ability to challenge practices and implement evidence‑based recommendations
- Knowledge of local and national policy direction relevant to practice
- Experience of clinical audit and ability to facilitate staff in audits
- Ability to empower staff to manage and support change
- Effective clinical leadership and knowledge of leadership theories
- Clinical expertise to support development and innovation
- Sound information technology skills
- Clinical supervision experience
- Development of professional roles
- Project management demonstrating communication and change implementation
- Understanding of clinical and corporate governance agenda
- Facilitation of reflective practice for staff and personal reflective practice
- Handling complex, sensitive or contentious information in emotive situations
- Direct delivery of a clinical, technical or social care service
- Delivery of specialist programmes of care or care packages
- Motivating and empowering others to change roles and leading practice development
