An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager to join us on the Haematology Ward. We believe our staff are our greatest asset and support our ward team to develop and grow. Our ideal candidate will be caring, passionate, and highly motivated to provide safe, innovative care. In return, we will develop you and support you within our speciality.
Additional training will be provided to enhance your leadership and management skills. You will be well supported by the Unit Manager.
Ward 30 is a 22‑bed unit with a clinic and day unit attached. Staff rotate through the unit.
We treat patients with chemotherapy and other supportive treatments for haematological conditions.
Responsibilities- Deputise for the Ward Manager as required.
- Provide clinical leadership and management support to the ward.
- Develop and evaluate best practice within the department.
- Ensure safe delivery of care and support the team.
- Excellent clinical skills and experience of leading a team.
- Clinical experience within haematology.
- Proficiency in cannulation, venepuncture, management of vascular access devices, and administration of systemic anti‑cancer therapy.
Additional training, a welcoming culture, and support from the unit manager to advance your leadership.
