You will benefit from a supportive environment that values your expertise, encourages your professional development, and promotes a healthy work-life balance through hybrid and flexible working arrangements. With access to comprehensive benefits designed to enhance your wellbeing and career progression, this role offers the perfect platform for you to make a meaningful impact while advancing your own skills. What you'll do:
Oversee the daily settlement of securities trades across various asset classes such as equities, bonds, Repo transactions, and collateral management (including Repo Triparty), ensuring all activities are completed accurately and within required time frames. Monitor progress of business-as-usual tasks within the settlements team, taking corrective action when necessary to ensure deadlines are consistently met and operational standards maintained. Supervise downstream processes throughout the securities trading lifecycle, ensuring all trades settle in accordance with market cycles (T1/T2) and best practices.

Investigate failed trades, unmatched instructions, and settlement breaks promptly to ensure timely resolution and minimise operational risk. Manage settlement instructions across central securities depositories (CSDs), custodians, and sub-custodians while maintaining robust oversight of associated checklists across multiple entities. Oversee daily reconciliation of cash and securities positions between internal systems, custodians, and clearing agents to maintain strong operational controls. Identify and manage settlement, counter party, and operational risks associated with securities settlement;

escalate issues appropriately while supporting compliance with regulatory requirements such as CSDR and market discipline regimes. Lead, supervise, and develop the settlements team by allocating workloads effectively to meet cutoffs; provide training on market changes, new products, or system enhancements as needed. Review existing settlement processes regularly to identify opportunities for efficiency gains through automation or procedural enhancements; participate in system upgrades or platform migrations as part of broader change initiatives.

Act as a primary liaison for trading desks, Treasury teams, risk management functions, finance departments, custodians, brokers, clearing houses, and other market infrastructures; communicate material settlement issues clearly to all relevant stakeholders.

What you bring:

Extensive experience managing securities settlements operations within investment banking or capital markets environments is essential for success in this position. Demonstrated knowledge of fixed income products including bonds and Repo transactions, as well as familiarity with collateral management processes such as Repo Triparty highly desirable. Proven track record overseeing downstream processes throughout the securities trading lifecycle; experience ensuring timely trade settlement according to T1/T2 cycles is vital.

Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks governing securities settlements (e.g., CSDR) along with practical experience supporting compliance initiatives or responding to audits/inspections is required. Exceptional analytical skills enabling prompt investigation of failed trades or unmatched instructions; ability to implement corrective actions efficiently while minimising operational risk is important. Experience managing daily reconciliations between internal systems/custodians/clearing agents; proven ability to maintain robust operational controls that reduce errors or losses is expected.

Outstanding interpersonal skills allowing you to lead teams effectively allocating workloads appropriately while providing training/guidance on new products or system changes and foster an inclusive team culture. Demonstrated capability reviewing existing processes for efficiency improvements; hands-on involvement in automation projects/system upgrades/platform migrations would be advantageous. Excellent stakeholder management abilities: confidence liaising with trading desks/treasury/risk/finance/custodians/brokers/market infrastructures is essential for clear communication around settlement issues.

A collaborative approach combined with sensitivity towards diversity/inclusion initiatives; willingness to contribute positively towards building a supportive workplace environment.
