Health & Safety Advisor

£40,000 £ 50,000 + package
UK Regional / Site-Based (Civil Engineering & Highways)

A well-established and growing civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support a strong and expanding workload across highways, infrastructure, and utilities projects.

This role is suited to a hands-on, site-focused H&S professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, influencing behaviour on site, and being part of project delivery not just policing from a distance.

The Role

You ll be responsible for:

  • Providing H&S support across multiple live civil / highways projects

  • Conducting site inspections, audits, and safety tours

  • Reviewing and supporting RAMS and safe systems of work

  • Investigating incidents and near misses, implementing improvements

  • Promoting a strong safety-first culture across site teams

  • Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and Engineers

  • Ensuring compliance with UK H&S legislation and company procedures

About You
  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor within civil engineering or highways

  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (essential)

  • Comfortable operating on live construction sites

  • Confident communicator who can engage positively with site teams

  • Full UK driving licence

  • IOSH membership (or working towards) desirable
