We need someone who isn't just a "recipes-on-the-board" type of teacher, but someone who is truly dynamic and reflective in their practice.
The Role
- Creative Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging Food & Nutrition lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- The Science of Food: Inspire pupils through the study of nutrition, food provenance, and the chemistry behind cooking.
- Tracking Growth: Assess and track pupil progress, providing the kind of feedback that actually helps a student improve their bake (and their grade).
- Standards: Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement-keeping the kitchen a safe, focused, and productive space.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): A must-have for this role.
- Subject Specialist: Proven experience teaching Food/D&T in a UK secondary school.
- Technical Savvy: Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject.
- Management Skills: Effective classroom and behaviour management
- Compliance: A DBS on the update service (or the willingness to get one sorted pronto).
