Prospero Teaching are recruiting a passionate and committed KS3/4 Maths Teacher to support secondary schools across the Wirral from February 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an Maths specialist who enjoys delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils to build confidence and strong numeracy skills across KS3 and KS4.
The roleAs a Maths Teacher, you will plan and deliver structured, engaging maths lessons that support pupils' understanding, problem-solving skills and exam preparation. You'll work closely with maths departments and pastoral teams to help pupils progress academically and remain motivated in the classroom. Schools are looking for teachers who can maintain high expectations while creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities- Planning and delivering high-quality Maths lessons across KS3/4
- Teaching core maths topics in line with curriculum requirements
- Preparing pupils for exams through effective revision and assessment
- Tracking, assessing and reporting on pupil progress
- Creating a positive, focused and inclusive classroom environment
- Managing behaviour in line with school policies
- Working collaboratively with subject colleagues and pastoral teams
- Supportive and experienced Maths departments
- Strong behaviour systems and pastoral support
- Well-resourced classrooms and specialist Maths facilities
- Schools located across Birkenhead, Wallasey, Heswall and wider Wirral areas
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
- Experience teaching Maths at KS3/4 (GCSE level)
- Confident, enthusiastic and able to motivate learners
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Reliable, proactive and committed to high teaching standards
- Good understanding of safeguarding and secondary school policies
