Prospero Teaching are recruiting a passionate and committed KS3/4 English Teacher to support secondary schools across the Birkenhead area from February. This is an excellent opportunity for an English specialist who enjoys teaching GCSE English Language and Literature and supporting pupils through a crucial stage of their secondary education.

As a KS4 English Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, well-structured English lessons that develop pupils  reading, writing, and analytical skills. You ll work closely with the English department and pastoral teams to ensure pupils are supported academically and emotionally, particularly as they prepare for GCSE assessments. Schools are looking for confident classroom practitioners who can maintain high standards while building positive relationships with students.

• Planning and delivering high-quality English lessons across KS3/4
• Teaching GCSE English Language and/or English Literature
• Preparing pupils for exams through effective revision and assessment
• Tracking, assessing and reporting on pupil progress
• Creating a positive, focused and inclusive classroom environment
• Managing behaviour in line with school policies
• Working collaboratively with subject colleagues and pastoral teams

• Supportive and experienced English departments
• Strong behaviour systems and pastoral support
• Well-resourced classrooms and specialist English facilities
• Easily accessible from Birkenhead, Wallasey, Bebington and surrounding Wirral areas

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
• Experience teaching English at KS3/4 (GCSE level)
• Confident, enthusiastic and able to motivate learners
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Reliable, proactive and committed to high teaching standards
• Good understanding of safeguarding and secondary school policies
