Prospero Teaching are recruiting KS3 Teachers for general cover roles across secondary schools on the Wirral, starting from February. These positions are ideal for qualified teachers who enjoy variety, flexibility and supporting pupils across a range of subjects at Key Stage 3.

General cover roles are available on a day-to-day, short-term and longer-term basis, supporting schools with planned and unplanned absences.

The role

As a KS3 General Cover Teacher, you will deliver pre-set lessons across a variety of subjects, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment. You'll be responsible for keeping pupils engaged, managing behaviour in line with school policies and providing feedback to departments where required. Schools are looking for adaptable, confident teachers who can step into different classrooms with ease.

Responsibilities

Delivering pre-planned lessons across the KS3 curriculum
Maintaining a calm, positive and well-managed classroom environment
Following school behaviour and safeguarding policies
Supporting pupils' engagement and on-task behaviour
Providing feedback to teaching and pastoral staff
Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
Adapting quickly to different subjects, classrooms and school settings

The ideal candidate

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
Experience teaching or covering KS3
Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
Flexible, adaptable and reliable
Strong communication skills
Good understanding of safeguarding and secondary school expectations Safeguarding
