Job Summary
Primary Teaching Assistant – Wirral – From £13.79 per hour. Axcis Education is working in partnership with a primary school in the Wirral area seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant to support the daily running of the classroom. The successful candidate may also provide one‑to‑one support for pupils with additional needs within the class. This school is based in Wallasey; it has onsite parking and is in a perfect location for public transport.
Key Responsibilities- Support and supervise pupils with challenging behaviour
- Help pupils with personal care needs and offer guidance on social skills, health and hygiene
- Take part in assessing pupils to identify those who may need extra help or support
- Assist in providing tailored support for pupils with additional needs
- Build positive one‑to‑one mentoring relationships with pupils and offer emotional support to those who are upset or struggling
- At least 6 months personal or professional experience supporting adults or children with special educational needs, or a certified qualification in a relevant area – education, psychology, drama, etc.
- A graduate teaching assistant with a patient, compassionate and positive attitude
- Flexibility to work in school hours – contracts are usually 8:30 a.m. until 3:00–4:30 p.m. depending on the school
- Ability to reliably commute to settings either by driving or public transport
This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise. Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience. Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short‑term and long‑term assignments in addition to permanent positions.
