Grocery Sales Associate – Weis Markets

Job Description:

• Keep the Grocery department well stocked, organized and appealing to meet customer demands and maximize sales. Build displays to drive incremental sales.
• Stock and rotate merchandise to ensure freshness. Keep product within easy customer reach. Store excess merchandise according to backroom organization guidelines.
• Smiles and greets customers, answers questions, helps resolve concerns promptly in polite, professional manner.
• Apply proper stocking techniques to ensure products are properly located on shelves, properly priced and signed.
• Assist with receiving, unloading, checking‑in, breaking‑down, and storing deliveries through operation of power jack or hand jack (if properly trained – training provided).
• Handle damaged or discontinued items according to company policy. Remove product that cannot be sold.
• Maintain general sanitation in the department; follow cleaning schedules and department guidelines to keep work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. well maintained, clean and meeting all health and OSHA requirements. Dispose of trash properly.
• Maintain productivity standards, work methods, and standards and shrink control. Comply with security regulations and policies. Put out stock at an acceptable rate as determined by company standards.
• Assist with baling cardboard or other related duties (if properly trained; training provided).
• Ensure smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co‑workers and supervisors. Continuously improve job performance.
• Utilize all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE). Including but not limited to cut‑resistant gloves, safety cutters, company‑sponsored footwear, etc.
• May also be called upon to assist in other departments.

Hourly Pay Rate Range: $16.00–$23.00 per hour

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Qualification Requirements: Completed or working toward a High School Diploma or GED. No prior experience required.
