Sales Associate II

Overview

Base pay range: $16.00/hr - $16.00/hr the Rescue Mission is seeking a Full Time Sales Associate II (Key Holder) to work in our Binghamton Thrifty Shopper. The Sales Associate II serves customers by displaying, promoting, sizing, pricing, and tagging merchandise. This position assists store management with running an efficient and service-oriented store. Promotes Rescue Mission while building relationships with customers. Provides customer service by greeting customers, providing information, and answering questions.

• Open and close procedures in the absence of store manager and/or assistant store manager
• Cash reconciliation at the end of shifts in the absence of store manager and/or assistant store manager
• Display merchandise by stocking shelves, counters, racks and tables, as needed
• Promote sales by setting up displays, making announcements as directed by the supervisor, and informing customers of special sales
• Process payments (cash, checks, sales discounts, credit cards)
• Maintain the clean and orderly condition of the store
• Contribute with a team attitude; create a safe environment by complying with procedures and policies
• Assist in identifying, reporting, and solving issues to store management

• High School diploma or GED certificate

• 1-3 years retail experience preferred
• Previous customer-service experience
• Previous cash register and reconciliation experience preferred
• Emotionally mature and able to handle stress professionally

• Ability to work in an unsupervised atmosphere
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and days
• Customer-service oriented
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Manages time efficiently
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to stand for long periods, visually check color coded racks and sizing by number, bending and lifting as required
• Nights and weekends required

• Pay Rate: $16.30 per hour
• Pay Range: $16.30 per hour
