This is a per diem RN position for Seton 1 Cardiac Telemetry at Lourdes Hospital. Seton 1 is a 25-bed acute care unit at Guthrie Lourdes in Binghamton, NY. The patient population includes cardiac diagnoses such as heart failure, irregular cardiac rhythms and heart attacks. The unit is also the primary stroke unit in the hospital. Seton 1 is a fast-paced unit with a multitude of diagnoses to experience and gain great skills on!
PositionSummary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment. Accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan. Practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association code of ethics for nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice.
Essential functions and specific skills for the job are found in the unit-specific onboarding checklist and in standards that are applicable to the specialty.
- Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- BSN in Nursing preferred.
- Specialty Certification preferred.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS unit dependent.
- PALS unit dependent.
- Registered nurse currently licensed in the state of employment with at least one year of experience or less if transitioned from Newly Licensed Registered Nurse Residency.
- Must meet individual unit specifications regarding educational requirements during employment.
- Must maintain BLS certification.
- Accommodates ACLS unit dependent requirement.
- Specifications for educational requirements during employment are determined by the Nursing Department and Nursing Unit.
Assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. Develops updates and coordinates patient plans to achieve goals and optimize outcomes and transitions across the continuum.
Effectively advocates for ethical and holistic care by partnering in care planning to promote autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs of those served.
Fosters a learning environment for patients/families, nursing, and other healthcare team members.
Accountable for safety, identifies and corrects problems, integrates evidence and best practice into nursing care.
Engages in ongoing professional development; practices at the top of license within legal parameters.
Demonstrates leadership as change agent, collaborates with colleagues, delegates, coordinates care.
The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $54.12 per hour + 15% per diem differential.
