Overview

LPN - Acute Care, Full Time. Up to $15k Sign on Bonus for Qualified Candidates.

Provides high quality nursing care for assigned patients in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Maintains collaborative relationships with other nursing staff, physicians and ancillary staff to provide this care. Supports the philosophy and objectives of the nursing department. Assists the Registered Nurse with the nursing process. Participates in patient data collection, including the admission process.

Contributes to determining outcomes (goals) with the patient and family. Implements the plan of care in collaboration with the nursing team. Assists the RN to evaluate patient responses to interventions. Recommends changes in the plan of care to the RN and participates in patient care conferences. Demonstrates competence in nursing skills and procedures relative to the clinical area and scope of practice.

Practices within the scope of nursing care consistent with policies and procedures and Pennsylvania licensure for LPNs. Partners with the RN to implement evidence-based interventions and treatments unique to patient needs. Assists with health education of patients and family, utilizing patient education resources. Documents thoroughly and timely according to department standards. Reports changes in patient conditions to the RN. Participates in performance improvement activities and efforts to minimize costs and unnecessary duplication in patient care.

• Demonstrates the ability to communicate observations of patient to members of the healthcare team.
• Prioritizes work assignments and manages daily patient loads.
• Maintains professional records that provide evidence of competency.
• Shares knowledge with peers and participates in orientation or clinical teaching as applicable.

Education, License & Cert: LPN must be licensed in the state of practice.

Experience: For those working in PA, must have completed the IV therapy curriculum requirements as noted in the Pennsylvania Code, Section 21.203. If not completed at hire, must complete a Board-approved LPN IV Therapy Education Program prior to independently practicing IV therapy. Must meet unit-specific educational requirements during employment. Maintain CPR certification.

• Utilizes time between patient care procedures to maintain a clean and orderly work environment and assist other nurses with patient care.

Pay range for this position is $26.25/hour to $38.23/hour.
