The Role

United Health Services, the largest and most comprehensive provider of healthcare services in upstate New York's Southern Tier, is hiring Staff Registered Nurses for our PACU team at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. The PACU is a very fast-paced and collaborative environment working with a wide variety of patients. PACU thrives on the rewarding feeling of working together as a team to manage patients' pain and see them improve rapidly!

Schedule: 8 hour shifts; weekends and holidays are on call



Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitoring patients post anesthesia (drips, blood pressure, airways)
  • Keeping a close eye on vital signs and responding when needed
  • Assessing and managing pain levels
  • Educating and advocating for patients
Qualifications

  • A valid NY RN license
  • Previous PACU, ICU, or Telemetry experience preferred
  • ACLS preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients.
  • Rooms are air conditioned and heated.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.
  • Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
  • PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by Infection Control policies

HIPAA Roles-Based Access to Patient Information

  • Level 3:
    Clinical - Access to non-restricted patient information
Compensation: $40.70-$61.05 per hour, depending on experience.

Sign-On Bonus: This unit is eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $15,000.
