Summary:
A Maintenance Technician installs, adjusts, maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems. It is responsible for maintaining the productivity level and quality performance of the equipment within the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze mechanical, CNC, and other operational problems on assigned equipment.
- Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Examine, test and measure equipment for operational and quality specifications, using gauges and instruments.
- Record data as appropriate.
- Performs preventative maintenance checks and inspections, reports findings and takes appropriate corrective actions.
- Installation and repair industrial equipment.
- Check and repairs pumps, fans, valves, motors, and other peripheral components.
- Adjust, repair and replacement of electrical control components.
- Install of electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlet fixtures, and motors in the equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance such as cleaning, oil changes and replacement of parts.
- May assist in the training, leading and supervision of small groups of maintenance personnel, including the scheduling of work assignments.
- Capable for accessing and manipulate various objects, tools, or controls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school or GED diploma.
- Preferred 4 years of experience with troubleshooting and repair of CNC metalworking equipment including mills, lathes, sheet metal presses and turrets, as well as custom process machinery.
- Knowledge of PLC and CNC diagnostics.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals and drawings.
- Experience with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical components of machines.
- Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to detect defects in equipment and making proper repairs.
- Ability to work from sketches, diagrams and prints, and in the care and use of tools and equipment used in trades involved.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and practices used in CNC and mechanical machine repair.
- Occupational hazards and safety precautions knowledge is required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position will work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels. The employee will be primarily working in a stationary position for extended periods of time, but also mobile enough to navigate through work areas. Must be capable of lifting 0-50lbs. in the proper ergonomic position.
