Location: Binghamton, NY
Salary Range: $53-$64/HR

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee high-voltage transmission line projects involving energized work. This role is responsible for supervising field execution, ensuring strict safety compliance, and coordinating crews and subcontractors working in live electrical environments.
Core Responsibilities
- Supervise construction activities on high-voltage transmission lines, including work performed near or under energized conditions.
- Oversee field crews, subcontractors, and equipment to ensure safe and efficient execution of transmission work.
- Enforce compliance with all applicable safety standards, including OSHA, NESC, and utility-specific energized work procedures.
- Lead pre-job briefings, tailboard meetings, and job hazard analyses prior to the start of work.
- Monitor daily work progress, resolve field issues, and communicate status updates to project leadership.
- Ensure energized work protocols are followed, including minimum approach distances, PPE requirements, and grounding practices.
- Support emergency response readiness, including incident reporting and evacuation procedures as required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in transmission line construction.
- At least 2 years of experience working in energized or live-line environments.
- Demonstrated experience supervising field crews and subcontractors on transmission projects.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety (required)
- Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) or equivalent (required)
- First Aid / CPR (preferred)
- NERC CIP awareness (preferred)
- Working knowledge of live-line maintenance techniques, including barehand, hot stick, and rubber glove methods.
- Familiarity with transmission line components such as conductors, insulators, structures, and grounding systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, construction drawings, and switching orders.
- Strong understanding of energized work protocols and safety requirements.
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures, switching coordination, and grounding practices.
- Proven ability to identify job hazards, implement mitigation strategies, and lead crews safely in high-risk environments.
