Position: Ultrasound Tech - Full Time - Day/Eve

Overview

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer position offering a signing bonus for external applicants and internal per diem to full-time conversions. Salary range:
Min $35.15, Max $55.67 per hour.

Responsibilities

Performs the scanning examination requested by the referring physician, modifying the examination based on findings, and reviews the examination with the supervising Radiologist if necessary.

Assists the Radiologist or clinician in special procedures such as percutaneous fluid aspiration or biopsy in the department or Interventional Radiology.

Performs routine equipment checks for resolution and other quality control procedures as needed.

React quickly to emergency situations (e.g., patient fainting, unstable patient, fire) to ensure patient safety and sound alarms as required.

Ability to work alone on shift or on call and perform duties confidently and efficiently.

Must be able to lift, push, reach, bend, stop and walk to care for patients; complete stand-pivot transfers when required.

Maintain composure during procedures involving patients with colostomies, draining wounds, and others with isolation precautions.

Qualifications

Education, License & Cert
:
High school with additional skills training (certification) required.

Certification Required
: RDMS (preferred) or ARRT with specialized certification in Sonography required; cannot be certification eligible.

Experience
:
Minimum of three months (RDMS).

Other Duties

Verifies images and reports of exams and sends to PACS.

Maintains an inventory of coupling agents, drugs, and other supplies; requisitions as needed.

Obtains sterile instruments as needed and returns them to central supply for sterilization and storage.

T conducts ultrasound technique training for student technologists and completes appropriate paperwork.

Demonstrates willingness to accept non-routine work assignments as appropriate.

Ability to work a variety of shifts and participate in call rotations, including evenings/overnights, weekends, and holidays.

On-call readiness: be in the department within 45 minutes after being called for a procedure.

Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods (approximately 30–60 minutes per patient) during examinations.

Performs high-level disinfection procedures according to policy/procedures.
