- The Lead Surgical Technologist performs intraoperative patient care and is generally assigned to the scrub role in various surgical procedures, and also performs routine unit tasks.
- Provide emergency care measures as appropriate, and assist in meeting the patient's emotional needs.
- Follow universal precautions, safe handling guidelines, and all other infection control standards.
- Ensure safety and security of self and others and follow special precautions as related to patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized perioperative unit.
- Promote a positive attitude to staff, families, and patient/guests and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Work under direct supervision of PCC-RN and under the general supervision of Perioperative Managers.
- Perform tasks in a cost‑effective manner without compromising quality of care, and meet hospital continuing education and certification requirements.
- Uphold goals and objectives of the Department of Perioperative Services and contribute to organizational effectiveness and career growth.
- Work variable rotating shifts as assigned; call is assigned on a rotating basis.

Must be a high school graduate or possess the GED, and must have completed formal Surgical Technology Training Program. Minimum of 2 years related work experience required. - On-going

Demonstrates competency to meet essential job functions. Maintains knowledge related to patient care issues, quality improvement and cost reduction, current policies, procedures, and protocols. Meets mandatory educational and health requirements. - Patient Population Served

Knowledge of growth and development and an understanding of the range of treatments necessary to meet the age-specific needs of the patient population served.
