This role will be onsite at the Customer’s Technology Campus. Act as the technical resource / advisor / resident engineer providing onsite support for engineering design, operations, and planning to execute assignments in a multidisciplinary role for critical facilities operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical, controls, and electrical power distribution systems for data centers. Experience with electrical equipment design including generators, UPS systems, and electrical switch gear is required.

Mechanical/HVAC experience is also required. You will support the critical infrastructure team as their technical resource / subject matter expert.

• Provide engineering support campus-wide for all utility systems and infrastructure: steam, chilled water, compressed air, glycol, and electrical distribution
• Support construction administration by reviewing RFIs, change orders, submittals, and specifications
• Participate in equipment inspections, factory witness testing, and vendor QA/QC visits
• Assist in coordinating site inspections
• Review contractor installations for compliance with design specifications and industry standards
• Provide technical expertise on mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring alignment with the Owner’s requirements
• Develop and implement modernization plans for existing infrastructure to enhance efficiency, resiliency, and reliability
• Evaluate, manage, and track equipment nearing end-of-life and prepare technical specifications for replacements
• Support and coordinate central utility plant capital projects with the project management team
• Oversee projects, assist with design plans/reviews, provide and gather specifications, and execute assignments in a multidisciplinary electrical engineering design role for medium to large data center facility design projects
• Conduct vendor evaluations and construction oversight to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
• Support Data Center Operations with any design upgrades at the site
• Monitor system performance and recommend operational or technical improvements
• Work with Management to create / respond to RFPs
• Write comprehensive reports when needed including recommendations for optimizing building operations, functional checklists, list of deficiencies, and equipment operation and maintenance manuals
• Provide engineering expertise for troubleshooting, failure analysis, and corrective action development
• Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to engineering design and commissioning
• Understand functional tests for various systems, such as electrical distribution systems, UPS, and standby generators
• Interface with clients, contractors, equipment vendors, and owners’ agents as needed
• Maintain and organize all engineering drawings
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements (OSHA, etc.)

• 3 to 7+ years of experience in data center MEP design or commissioning
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred, but relevant experience also considered
• EIT or PE license is a plus but not required
• Strong understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, Compressors, cooling towers, Generators, UPS, Switchgear, Electrical Power Distribution, Utilities)
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM for design reviews / minor tweaks is a plus
• Proficient in construction administration and document management
• Experience preparing specifications, evaluating equipment, and supporting capital project implementation
