GNR has been retained to identify an innovative MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER with a passion for engineering first-generation, innovative precision machine systems and solutions
.
This is NOT your typical Mechanical Engineering position!
You will be part of a “THINK TANK” developing advanced custom mechanical / robotic / motion controls solutions to further the company’s development and production programs.
You’ll be part of a small group white-boarding and creating solutions that don’t exist, the end application could serve different purposes;
high precision assembly, metrology instrumentation, or lab equipment.
- This globally known organization is renowned for its research & manufacturing of products across various sectors: communications, life sciences, consumer goods & electronics.
- There’s no lack of resources or funding for your projects, these would be one-off, highly complex solutions.

- 5-20 years of Mechanical Design experience with a BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Physics or Engineering
- Able to work in a small collaborative team across various disciplines to architect and design electro-mechanical / robotics / motion control systems.
- Experience with material selection
, electro-mechanics, and different manufacturing processes – machining, additive, microfabrication etc. - Strong analytical experience
, part design & systems, tight tolerance and modeling. - Ensure performance & functionality before transitioning your system to operation / manufacturing center
- Fluent with 3D CAD tools:
Solid Works, CATIA, Inventor, Autodesk - Experience with any of the following types of equipment design: metrology, semiconductor, lab/medical, precision mechanical designs, automation/visual inspection systems, surgical robotics
