Job Description:SUNY Broome Community College's Chemistry Department is seeking qualified candidates for part-time adjunct instructor positions to teach chemistry courses.
Applications for Adjunct Instructor positions are accepted on a continuous basis. Candidates are contacted and hired as opportunities arise, depending on the college's needs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Teaching under the guidance of the department chairperson and general chemistry coordinator.
- Helping students master course content.
- Assessing student learning outcomes.
- Utilizing current learning management system technology (Brightspace) in the performance of job duties.
- Maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Fulfilling other duties as outlined in the Faculty contract.
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related field is required. A Master's or PhD degree is preferred.
- Applicants demonstrating ability to teach General Chemistry and Food Science courses will receive special consideration.
- Applicants should be available for morning or afternoon teaching assignments.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Offers of employment will be conditional upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
