Binghamton University s Division of Occupational Therapy, located on the health sciences campus in Johnson City, New York, is hiring clinical faculty for its entry-level occupational therapy doctoral (OTD) program and invites applicants for full-time, campus-based, 12-month faculty appointments. The position encompasses teaching, service, and scholarship.
Responsibilities- 70% teaching, 20% service, and 10% scholarship.
- Close collaboration within the Division and with faculty in related departments.
The candidates should minimally have:
- a minimum of three years of full-time equivalent clinical experience in occupational therapy with a generalist background or a specialization area of practice;
- a minimum of one year of full-time equivalent teaching experience in an occupational therapy practitioner program;
- capacity or plan to develop a clinical scholarship agenda.
Additional requirements:
- Academic post-professional doctoral degree (e.g., post-professional OTD, EdD, PhD, DHS) from an accredited institution.
- Hold a New York State occupational therapy license by September 1, 2026.
- Experience mentoring and advising student capstone or research projects.
- Existing, or developing, clinical scholarship or innovation agenda.
- Experience with simulation as an instructional strategy.
- Experience with advanced instructional strategies for building student metacognitive, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with interprofessional and intraprofessional education.
- Experience or interest in rural and community health.
- Experience in trauma-informed teaching and supporting student well-being.
