Position

Drop-In Center Coordinator

The Bridge Program

Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00–4:30 | Hourly, Non-Exempt

Do you believe that strong, compassionate childcare can change lives?

The Bridge Program is seeking a Drop-In Center Coordinator to play a vital role in supporting mothers and their children during a critical time of healing and growth. This position helps remove childcare barriers so mothers can fully participate in treatment, appointments, and support services—while ensuring their infants receive safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate care.

If you’re dependable, caring, and passionate about supporting families impacted by substance use and life transitions, this role offers the opportunity to make a real and lasting difference every day.

What You’ll Do

As the Drop-In Center Coordinator, you will oversee the daily operation of the Drop-In Center while providing direct childcare and developmental support to infants of program participants. You’ll also work closely with mothers—modeling healthy interactions, supporting child development, and fostering a warm, safe environment for both parent and child.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations of the Drop-In Center
  • Providing attentive, developmentally appropriate childcare for infants
  • Planning and implementing age-appropriate activities based on each child’s developmental stage
  • Collaborating with the Program Case Manager to support mothers’ participation in appointments, treatment, and support services
  • Maintaining accurate daily documentation, including attendance, health notes, and developmental observations
  • Providing parents with daily updates about their child’s activities and progress
  • Working one-on-one with mothers to model age-appropriate activities and discuss child development topics
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe childcare environment
  • Managing supplies and inventory, including submitting monthly supply requests
  • Conducting weekly room inspections for program participants
  • Creating and distributing a monthly calendar and schedule for program participants
  • Maintaining flexibility to support occasional non-traditional hours tied to programming needs
What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must have at least two (2) years of experience in a childcare setting
  • Experience working with infants strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated dependability and consistent attendance
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Basic understanding of substance use disorders
  • Ability to model positive, socially appropriate behavior
  • Conflict resolution skills and the ability to support daily living skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid New York State Driver’s License
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred

  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
Why This Role Matters

The Drop-In Center is more than childcare—it’s a foundation of stability that allows mothers to focus on recovery, growth, and connection. In this role, you’ll be a trusted presence for children and a supportive partner for mothers navigating complex life changes.
