RLD Associates, Inc. has an opening for a part‑time premium auditor. The role is 1099, home‑based, with travel required. As a premium auditor, you will work independently in the field, meeting with businesses to conduct insurance premium audits, reviewing accounting records and conducting thorough interviews to validate insured business type and associated premium.

In this position, you will cover an area 60‑75 miles of Binghamton, NY. Travel should be expected for 50‑75% of each week's worked hours. NOTE – the hourly rate shown is billable hour
. Travel is not considered billable.

• Review audit requests.
• Prioritize inventory and schedule workload.
• Make contact with named insured to request information and documentation needed to write an effective description of business operations and gather payroll and/or sales records for the policy term. If requested, travel to business to conduct on‑site interview and examine records.
• Research and apply appropriate manual rules and classifications to comply with insurance industry standards.
• Prepare written audit reports that include data analysis, calculations, and classifications.

• Ability to work independently.
• Dependable and self‑motivated.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Pleasant, yet professional personality.
• Two‑year degree in accounting or related subject preferred. Experience in bookkeeping and payroll preparation considered, as well as commercial insurance expertise.
• Reliable transportation when travel is necessary.
